Simple Truths Guiding Our Lives and Fellowship

The Bible

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Bible is the inspired, infallible and unchanging Word of God pointing to Christ and God’s plan for humanity. It teaches us our identity in Christ, our position in His Kingdom, and how to live life as an act of worship.

God

“Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.”

Deuteronomy 6:4

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, He was in the beginning with God (Genesis 1:3); And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

John 1:1-2&14a

There is one God; revealed as God FOR us (Father), God WITH us (Son, Savior, Jesus Christ), and God IN us (Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost).

Salvation

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is a gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation was, is and always will be by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Acts 2:37-41 shows the formula for salvation.

Gifts of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.”

1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Every individual is empowered to be activated in the fruit and manifestations of the Spirit.
